Class of 2013!

While visiting Solano County a couple of weeks ago, I met up with this young lady for a senior portrait session. I photographed her sister last year and was honored that they wanted me to photograph little sister’s senior portraits, too!

We met up at Wooden Valley Winery so of course we had to take a picture with the truck. Love this old, rusty, beat up pick up truck!

There weren’t many signs of fall, but there was a small patch of leaves that screamed “TAKE A PICTURE HERE!!!!”

You can’t be at a winery and not take pictures with the grape vines!

She had this idea to just walk between the grape vine-laced aisles. This is one of my favorites. The lighting wasn’t perfect, but I still love it!

Isn’t she just so photogenic?!

The early sunset was upon us and I love how it was hitting her hair.

Senior Style–Class of 2012

Before I left Fairfield, I met with this graduating senior for his senior portraits.

In just one month, he will be saying goodbye to high school and starting a new adventure in his life. Good luck and enjoy the adventure into adulthood, S! :)

I know I have said it before, but I enjoy photographing seniors because they ooze confidence. Once they get settled in front of the camera, they can be themselves and their personalities start shining through.

Oh so GQ!

Seniors Rule! - Meet Class of 2011 Senior Rep Caitlin!

The one thing I enjoy most about High School Seniors (male and female) is that they exude confidence during a portrait session. They are not insecure in any way and are so easy and carefree.

Our newest Senior Rep, Caitlin, was no exception. We headed to Wooden Valley Winery for her senior portrait session.

 

Wooden Valley makes such a great location for sessions because of the variety of backgrounds available. This blue door worked perfectly against her white top.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

She was very natural and comfortable in front of the camera and didn't really need any posing guidance. :)

 

 

Don't you love the colors of fall!??? The leaves were just starting to change color and they too, were a great contrast to her top.

Caitlin had such natural beauty to her that her surroundings looked even that much more beautiful as well.

 

 

There was just something about her flannel top that went so well with this classic truck!

Class of 2011 REPRESENT! Letterman Jacket and the San Diego Skyline

When I met with this HS Senior a couple of months ago, his Letterman's jacket had not yet come in.

SO...now that his jacket is in, we had to, of course, take some Senior pics to represent the Class of 2011!

Oh so GQ wouldn't you say?

After some shots at the Liberty Station, we headed over to Harbor Island for some shots with the San Diego skyline. It rained the day before, but the sun was beaming that day and the sky was fairly clear. It was a perfect day for capturing the heart of San Diego!

Class of 2011 is in The House!

Sorry, I’ve just been dying to say that for some reason. =)

One of my favorite things about Balboa Park is that there are so many different settings to choose from. You can wander around and each image looks like you are somewhere completely different.

Is it me or are High School Seniors just the BOMB (did I just date myself with that lingo?) when it comes to taking pictures? They ooze confidence and I love that they need little direction or coaxing on poses. They can relax in front of the camera and be themselves – their personalities just reflecting through each image.

Mr. Z was so comfortable in front of the camera and so easy going. I enjoyed photographing him because he would go from a smile to serious face with no hesitation and not even break out into a smirk when looking serious. SO GQ!

I have to admit I was jealous of the way his hair flowed in the wind in the above image. ;)

 

Mr. Z rocked the session and was such a natural!

Wanted: Class of 2011 Senior Reps – Solano County High Schools

The new school year is starting and MRS Photography is looking for representatives from Solano County High Schools. Only 2 male and 2 females will be chosen from each high school to serve as representatives. If you or someone you know is interested, please have them contact me ASAP!

Representatives must be outgoing, friendly, and be willing to spread the word about MRS Photography to their fellow seniors.  Rep cards with their image will be provided with discounts available to their friends.

Class of 2011 – Patrick

You can hardly tell from these pictures that the area was covered by a heavy layer of smoke from a grass fire. Just minutes before we started our session the smoke in the sky lifted and we were able to take advantage of some beautiful skies!

Patrick was so much fun to photograph! He kept me laughing the entire time and had a chance to catch up since I hadn’t seen him in awhile.

It is hard to believe this kid is a senior. I know, I seem to say that about all these kids that I have watched growing up, but I can’t help but remember how small they were and am amazed at what great kids they are. Patrick is no exception!

Enjoy your senior year, Patrick, and take it all in slowly. The year will be over sooner than you know it and you will miss high school!

 

As soon as we scheduled Patrick’s session, I knew that I wanted some pictures of him next to this cool wall. Doesn’t he look GQ? =)

  

Ready for Senior Year

When I met this kid he was 2 years old rockin’ a bowl haircut, chubby cheeks and a little heartbreaker. He blew me away with conversations he could sit there and have with me. We talked about anything from weather, preschool to food. By the time he was 5, we had intellectual conversations about anything kindergarten related. =)

Now, I find it hard to believe that he is 17 (especially since I haven’t aged at all) and getting ready to begin his senior year of high school.

G-Man, I am proud of the young man you have become. Continue to keep your head straight, your grades good and your hair spiky (it could serve as a weapon if ever you need it!).
