A Beautiful Young Lady at Pena Adobe Park | Down Syndrome Awareness Month

I had the pleasure of meeting this lovely young lady at Pena Adobe Park yesterday for a mini photo session.

She greeted me with a warm smile and a friendly handshake, but had a glint in her eye that told me that mischief might occur. 

She even offered an occasional courtesy laugh to let me feel like I'm as funny as I think I am. 😉

She was easygoing and up for any pose or location that I suggested. 

Serenity overtook her as she blew bubbles. There was a calmness that washed over her and I enjoyed watching her in this element.

This smile. She may not have expressed herself with many words during our session, but this smile about sums it up. I always feel blessed to have the privilege of photographing wonderful individuals and I try my best to capture personalities. It isn't about the posing, the perfect smile or the right location. For me, I want to look back at the photo and remember the personality that shined through during the session.

A Beautiful Day with a Fun Family | Solano County Family Photography

It’s hard to believe how fast time has flown by. The last time I photographed this family was in November of 2009! Things sure have changed since then.

They have added a new family member since the last time so we were sure to take photos with him at home.

I’ve never met a dog that posed so well! :)

With a quick change of clothes we then headed to a nearby park for some more photos.

THIS is my favorite one from the day!

During family sessions, I like to encourage the parents to also have photos of just the two of them. I adore this one of mom and dad!!

Cuteness in the Park

Last weekend, I headed to the Suisun City Waterfront with this little cutie for her 3 year old birthday photos. Her birthday was in the summer, but the weather was way too hot to do her session then.

I adore my little niece SO much!

Her eyes. They get me every time. :)

Can’t you just picture her on a children’s clothing ad?

One of the things I love about her is her many expressions. Though I love her smiling photos the best, this is one of my favorites. There is just something in her soft expression.

Here is the smile that can convince me to do just about anything for her!

Love is in the Air!

The last time I photographed these two, they were recent high school graduates and getting ready to move away from home.

Three years later, I am excited to photograph them as newlyweds!

We headed out to the Suisun Waterfront at sunset. The lighting and setting couldn’t be more perfect for us.

The love between these two just oozes.

I adore this couple and have loved watching them grow into wonderful adults!

Their smiles say it all….

They also have a new addition to their family. He wasn’t fond of having his pictures taken, but with the help of someone standing behind me, we got this great shot!

A Beautiful Fall Day with a Fun Family

I had the great pleasure of meeting this family this weekend. We headed out to Andrews Park in Vacaville.

The fall colors were nothing short of gorgeous and their white button-up shirts and ties packed a punch with the background!

These kids had personality and were a BLAST to hang out with! There wasn’t a dull moment, I tell ya! :)

It was hard to narrow it down to just a few of my favorites for the blog. These two, though, rank among my favorites.

Littlest brother’s smile just makes me smile!

Playing in the Rain

I have known this young man since before he and Cody could walk. We met him shortly after moving to Solano in 2008 and at that time, his older brother and DJ were in a karate class together. Cody and this little man were still crawling and became instant friends.

A couple of years later, they were classmates in preschool and our families have enjoyed their friendship throughout these years.

I was excited to FINALLY get this little man in front of my camera!! It was 6 years in the making, but it happened.

Friends, he didn’t disappoint!  

This sly, sweet smile is what I know him best for. I’d happily hand over a bag full of candy whenever he smiles at me like this.

I adore this kid! OH this face!

Big brother was there to help guide the session. He helped entertain his little brother and had music at the ready.

I love the tenderness of this next photo!!!! This isn’t a rare sight between these brothers. Little man has a pretty awesome caring big brother! 

I wasn’t as amusing to little man as the music. Go figure.

MUD!

In true boy fashion, mud found its way into the session. Rain + mud + boy =

I just love that photo above. THAT is his personality. Playful, funny, and always ready for fun!

As we wrapped up the session, the rain began to fall so the boys popped up their umbrella.

G Family at Silveyville | Solano County Family Photography

I had the pleasure of meeting this family last week. We headed to Silveyville Pumpkin and Tree Farm for their session.

It was the first time meeting their little man…

…but he warmed up quickly.

He is going to be a big brother soon and I’m sure his siblings will get these huge hugs, too!!

I love the personalities of kids this age! They are fun, playful and give THE best smiles!

The once full pumpkin patch was a little bare, but that didn’t stop us from finding a pretty perfect location.
