I can still remember waking up Christmas morning when I was about 5 yrs old and wondering how the Christmas present was dropped off at the foot of my bed. It had to be Santa because I tried to stay up and didn’t see my parents drop the gift off.
As a young adult, I lost that feeling of Christmas. But as a parent with two young boys, I have once again found the magic in the Season and enjoy every aspect of it. I’m not quite at the knitted Christmas Sweater with cats wearing Santa hats yet (though, I am thinking I don’t think I could ever get myself to wear one anyway LOL), I do enjoy decorating for Christmas, shopping for gifts, but most of all I enjoy the excitement my boys have for the Season.
The tree goes up in our house before Thanksgiving and stays up long after the new year (I think February was the record). I have long joked that I will keep it up year round and just decorate it based on the current month’s Holiday. ;)
I love decorating our house for Christmas and usually have themes. This year’s theme was supposed to be Disney/Toy Story, but instead, I somehow ended up with the theme being RED. I didn’t even realize it until after the house was already decorated.
From Mr. Snowman’s village of candles and ornaments …
… to the mini ornaments that fill the crystal bowl.
Even the window giant ornaments décor and wreath filled the Red theme this year.
These cool ornaments light up and have spinning lights. They remind me of the light up toys they sell at Disneyland.
My favorite ornaments are always the ones the boys bring home from school. This year, the tree is FULL of them.
The bow that adorns the top of the tree….
Before DJ was born, a co-worker had made these adorable ornaments for him.
Of course, the fireplace has to be decorated, too!
Happy Holidays to you and your family!!!
