Holiday Baking–Cake Pop Style

I have had this fascination with Cake Pops on the Bakerella website and finally had a chance to try my hand and making some.

I had all the preparations ready to make Reindeer Cake Pops.

My cake of choice was Red Velvet Cake

After baking and cooling the cake, the cake needed to be crumbled up into small crumbs.

Then the cream cheese frosting was added.  YUM!

The next step was to make the cake and frosting mixture into balls. They then needed to cool for a couple hours to allow them to get a little stiff.

Next came the fun part (and by fun I mean “good grief candy coating is harder than I thought!”).

I WAS going for reindeer cake pops, but could not quite figure out the whole lollipop stick thing so I ended up with truffles! Smile

They were mighty tasty! I don’t usually like Red Velvet cake, but with the cream cheese frosting mixed in it was DELICIOUS!!!

The truffles were partnered with white chocolate toffee bars as gifts for the boys’ teachers.
