3/21 is World Down Syndrome Day!

I don’t normally blog on the weekend, but tomorrow is a significant day. Other than it being my dad’s and my friend, Lobella’s birthdays (HAPPY BIRTHDAY) and my friends’ Lisa and Bob’s Anniversary (HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!), it is World Down Syndrome Day!

The purpose of World Down Syndrome Day is to help build awareness and understanding of Down Syndrome.

3/21 was specifically chosen for Down Syndrome Day because of the triplication of the 21st chromosome. Yes, folks, that’s right. My son, Cody, has an extra chromosome.

The extra chromosome gives him extra love to share, even more smiles to give and an unbelievable amount of happiness to share! (And at almost 4 years of age, I think the extra chromosome gives him an extra boost of stubbornness, too! HEEHEE)

You’re all jealous of his extra chromosome, aren’t you? =)

In honor of our little Cody, please visit http://www.worlddownsyndromeday.org/ to learn more about World Down Syndrome Day.

And what is a Cody blog post without a picture, right?
