And So My New Journey Begins…

If you watched my SOAR! video entry you know that my vision for my photography business has become slightly altered. In a good (no, make that fantastic) way.

One of the most precious gifts in my life is my son, Cody. He was diagnosed with Down Syndrome when I was 5 months pregnant.

Because so many people think of Down Syndrome as a negative thing, I want to change society’s perception. So many children and adults with Down Syndrome are living normal lives. They go to college, live on their own, dance, play sports and the list goes on and on.

My hope is to shed some light on Down Syndrome and help people realize the beauty in them.

I knew nothing about Down Syndrome until he was diagnosed and that is what began my research. The research that led me to believe that Cody was a gift to us.

And so now, I begin my 2010 with the desire to show these gifts to you. To show you the beauty, normalcy, and happiness those with Down Syndrome have.

Other than Cody and one other beautiful child, I have not photographed children nor adults with Down Syndrome.  I would love to build my portfolio and would like to offer the following to those interested in being my “models”.

The first 5 people (adults with Down Syndrome or parents of children with DS) to contact me will receive the following complimentary package:

  • 30 minute portrait session
  • 5 of your favorite images on CD
  • 8x10 print

I just ask that the sessions be conducted before the end of February.

Please contact me 707-439-3702 or mrs@mrs-photography.com if you would like to schedule your session.

Cheers to a beautiful and enlightening 2010!!!!

Michelle-
I love that you're doing this! My brother has Cerebral Palsy, so I've spent a lot of time in the special needs arenas, and I applaud you for your desire to focus on this. I can't wait to see some of your sessions!
Soar On!
