Last week, the kids, Teri and I went to the Western Railway Museum to go for a train ride to look at the beautiful wild flowers that Solano County has to offer. The view was gorgeous!
The train ride was a lot of fun as well. DJ and Cody had a great time and the rocking motion of the train rocked Cody to sleep during the 2nd half of the ride. =)
I loved the interior of the train. It was very vintage.
Although the beginning of the week was FREEZING and unbelievably windy, the day was on our side and we had a gorgeous sky. It was the perfect opportunity to try out my new polarized filter. I love the blue of the sky that it captured.
The purple wildflowers (their name escapes me) makes such a beautiful scenery. I always see it on the side of the freeway and it is just beautiful.
These things have always made me curious. I first saw them during Mission Impossible when Tom Cruise was flying past them. I don’t know if it was this specific windmills, but something about them just intrigues me.
The railway museum happened to be right next to the windmill farm so we were able to get a close up view of them. They are HUGE!
I love the blue sky against this leafless tree.
After the train ride, we wandered around the museum. They had non-running trains that you can run around in. DJ had a great time on the empty trains while Cody continued his nap.
The museum had a large picnic area that was peacefully surrounded by beautiful flowers, lots of trees and numerous relaxation spots. I could have stayed there for hours.
