I have been dabbling with the idea of offering Senior Portraits and because majority of the people I have photographed thus far have been under the age of 10, I invited my Goddaughter to meet me for a session of modeling.
We went to one of my new hotspots. They have a great variety of scenery and it is not a widely used area – perfect for portrait sessions!!!
Meet my beautiful Goddaughter, Shay! I think I may have been more nervous than her for the session! She was a great model, though, and we got into a flow right away.
I wish my legs were as long as hers. Then I would be…well, taller! =)
One thing I noticed that was the main difference between younger aged children and teenagers is that teenagers do great with poses. With younger children, I like to observe and capture candid expressions because they aren’t as receptive to poses that require them to stay still for a period of time. I think that is why I was apprehensive about offering senior portraits. I wasn’t sure if I directing posing was something I could do since I was used to being an observer. =)
I proved myself wrong and with the help of Shay, we had a blast experimenting with poses.
She nearly fell off a rock on this one when I kept asking her to lean back, but isn’t the end result beautiful! =)
This is one of my favorite images from the day. She must think her Godmother is hilarious, right? =)
And I think this is my FAVORITE portrait from the day….
Stay tuned for the announcement of my Senior Portrait packages. I will also be looking for Senior Representatives to receive discounts on all packages.
