I came across this video after a fellow photographer referenced it on her Facebook page.
The words Tyler Perry says resonate with me.
As a photographer, I find myself wanting to try many things and say yes to any session that comes along. It’s the people pleasing aspect of being a middle child, maybe? ;)
For awhile now, I have wanted to try to focus on a few things – more special needs photography, more child photography and less posed images.
While I know this is 3 things and not one, they all fall in line with each other.
In the few years of being a photographer, I have learned that no on knows how to be natural in front of the camera more than a child. They are confident in themselves and aren’t hyper-conscious of the way they look, stand, smile, or don’t smile. They just do it because that’s who they are.
Moving forward, my focus will be simple – capturing children the way they are. :)
Whether it is interacting with their families, solo in front of the camera, or chasing them down at a park, I want to focus on building memories for parents. We all know that our child’s characteristics and mannerisms (both the ones we love and the ones we wish they would stop doing) come to an end and just like I want to for my sons, in a few years I want parents to look back at these images and remember the innocence of their child.
If you have a child from 0 to 18 years old, feel free to take advantage of MRS Photography’s current San Diego Introductory Special.
If you have one thing that you want to focus on, I’d love to hear it! Please feel free to leave a comment! :)
