What’s In My Camera Bag?

If you like to geek out like me then the first thing you ask someone that is into photography is “What kind of gear do you have? Are you a Canon, Sony or Nikon person?”

I am a Canon girl. I LOVE my Canon. So much so that DJ once said that if I love it so much I should marry it. If I did then Canon would be a polygamist because I am sure there are others that would marry their Canon as well! =)

And just to geek out a little more for you, the below images were taken with my new Incredible by HTC phone. The 8MP camera is AWESOME for a phone camera! I heart it!

So here is my gear bag, a Jill-e Designs camera bag. One thing I like to indulge in is purses so a standard camera bag just would not do! What wardrobe would it go with??? SO, I had to have this bag when I saw it online. I even drove 1.5 hours to purchase the last one the store had because I did not want to wait for shipping if I purchased it online.

My Jill-e and I have been together for 2 years now and we are still happy together.

Now, what’s inside this pretty purse, I mean camera bag?

My gear consists of:

  • Canon 40D
  • 50mm f1.8 lens (My FAVORITE lens)
  • 28-135 f3.5 lens
  • 4 memory cards
  • 2 batteries
  • battery charger
  • Compact Flash Card Reader
  • Antibacterial

The 50mm lens is my favorite because I love to take those up-close shots with the background blurred out.

The 28-135mm I use when there are more than 2 people in the shot.

The antibacterial is one of the most important things in my bag (other than my camera!). Because my subjects are primarily children I want to make sure that they don’t catch any germs that I may be bringing in or that I don’t get any that they may be sharing and bring it home to share with my own kids. Antibacterial has been a permanent fixture in our home since Cody was born and I want to take the same care and precaution that we did with my own little, fragile one.
