I had the honor of being one of 3 Matron of Honors at one of my best friend, Jem’s, wedding. She and I have been friends since I was 3, she was 2 and our friend Laura were 1. Our fathers were in the Coast Guard together and had been friends since before any of us were born.
We all had somehow ended up with our fathers stations at Treasure Island when we were toddlers and have been friends ever since!
Although we all moved (on average) every 2 years we managed to keep in touch and at times ended up stationed on the same base with at least one of the other families.
When we were teens our parents (while close to retirement) decided to buy houses in Suisun, CA. We lived within a 2 minutes walk from each other.
After we graduated from high school, we all went our separate ways with us ultimately being separated (Jem in Hawaii, Laura in Texas and I faithful to Cali!). The distance, however, never hurt our friendship and we are all still as close as can be. The two of them are the closest things to sisters that I have.
We spent a LOT of time laughing, reminiscing and catching up last week and I miss them and our friend, Lobella, VERY much!!! We need to have another girl’s only vacation, ladies!!!!!!
I didn’t take my camera out too much while on vacation because I wanted to enjoy the moment without breaking out the gigantic camera (I wish I would have brought my Point and Shoot camera for outings!!!)
Because I love details, here are a few detail shots from the wedding:
