Saving Sofia

The regularly scheduled programming of Wordless Wednesday has been cancelled. Instead, I have special news to share. :)

Last November, I photographed a beautiful little boy named Joaquin. I just adore him and his mom!

Their family has some AMAZING news that they shared with us recently and my hurt just bursts with excitement at what they are doing.

They are adopting a beautiful baby girl with Down Syndrome from Europe. Little Sofia is in an orphanage and this beautiful family is going to be her forever family.

You can follow their journey here - http://savingsofia.blogspot.com

The adoption process itself is costly and their family could use help in bringing her home to a place where she will be a part of a family, held, nurtured, cared for, and mostly importantly loved. Orphanages do what they can to care for the children, but special needs children need so much more TLC early in life to help with their development.

That is why it is so wonderful that this family has found her at such a young age. She will be one this month!

If you can, please help to bring Sofia home to her new family! You can click on the below link or visit their website to donate to the cause.

They are also holding a Crab Feed in March in honor of Sofia! Once the details are ironed out and the tickets become available I will be sharing that information here so that you crab lovers can get your grub on. =)
