Event – Nelda Mundy Elementary School Business Expo

Join me and 60+ other vendors at the Nelda Mundy Elementary School Business Expo on Thursday, April 2nd from 4 pm to 8 pm.

This is a great opportunity to support and meet local business owners, including small home businesses.

This “Family Fun Night” is open to the community and all are welcome to attend. There will be food vendors as well, so join us for dinner! =) There will also be movies, video games and fun for kids of all ages.

OH LALA – It’s in the Hair

Last September, you saw pictures of this little cutie when we surprised his mom and dad with a secret session for their wedding anniversary.

He has grown SO much since then. Not only has he grown, but so has his hair!!!! =) I am envious of the body and volume that he has!!!!!!!

Since this was an indoor session and I never really get a chance to shoot those, I had a vision in my head for a particular image using a couch. He was so cooperative and I was able to capture the exact image I had envisioned! THANKS Davin!

I love this age…they are so cooperative! We put him on the chair and he did exactly what I had hoped he would. He was himself, yet casually posing. =)

Since it was such a gorgeous day on Saturday, we took him to the nearby park for his first outdoor portrait session!

He LOVED it outside! It was exciting to see his excitement and curiosity for everything new.

A Beautiful Day at the Park with an Adorable Little Boy

I seriously love my job!!! I get to meet friendly parents and play with adorable kids!

This is one of my favorite images from the day. Why? Because it is symbolic of this stage of life for little ones. This is the age in which they are coming into their own independence. The bittersweet moment for a parent when they are transitioning between “baby” and “big boy”.  I have gone through it twice and it doesn’t get easier. It’s that moment when you wish “can’t they stay babies forever?”

Momma’s Got New Lenses and She’s Not Afraid To Use Them!

I finally had a chance to play with my new 50mm 1.8 lens yesterday. YEAH!

Until now, I had only been using the 28-135 mm that came with my camera . Until now…I loved that lens! =)

While my boys did their afternoon routine of DJ reading and Cody watching Yo Gabba Gabba, I took their pictures to test out the new lens.

This may just be one of my new favorite pictures of DJ. I love how serious he is when he reads.

No one was safe from the Mommarazzi! Not even a sleeping Scooter…

Or Xena…

I love this picture because this is Cody’s stance of preference lately. Whether it is waiting for his sippy cup to be filled, playing with toys on the couch or yelling “ca-cwa” as his bowl is getting filled with goldfish crackers.

THEN after staying in the house all day and not going anywhere while waiting for a UPS delivery…UPS finally delivered the goods at 6 pm!!!

It was here…the package I had been waiting for for forever (okay…only since Sunday)…

The 85mm 1.8 lens!!!!

I was impressed with the 50mm, but WOW. The 85mm ROCKS!

And my new favorite picture of the boys….

These last 2 pictures were taken in our family room with the blinds partially closed. The clarity and vibrancy that the lens allowed for is impressive!

City Girl

This last weekend, I attended Sandy Puc’s Tots to Teens Seminar in Burlingame. It was a great seminar and I walked away with LOTS of new ideas and techniques.

The highlight from my weekend, though, is that I got to meet up with my good friend and meet her little girl for the first time.

She was the cutest, most petite little girl and we fell in love with her. Of course, I had my camera on hand so I had to take her picture to show this little cutie off!

 

Being One is Fun!

Our 2nd entry into the Cute Kid Contest is cute, little, recently turned one, David.

This little cutie has such adorable, loving eyes! Don’t they just draw you in?

And look at these lashes! They would be the envy of any woman.

One of my favorite characteristics in this age group is the innocent curiosity that they have. I love the intensity in which he stared at the flower. I would love to see things through the eyes of a 1 year old!

This little guy was SO cooperative! He didn’t mind the camera in front of him and felt so natural in front of it.

Crop For a Cure!

Signs of Spring

Although my allergies might not agree with me, I LOVE Spring!

I love that the sky has amazing color and that it is not dark until almost 8 pm….

…that flowers are in bloom…

…and that everything is so colorful and bright again.

A Princess and the Park

Yesterday, I had a fun session with a little princess that took being a princess seriously (as any female should!). I loved how she enjoyed wearing her pretty dress. It reminded me of the way I felt on my wedding day! =)

Remember the scene from Sixteen Candles when Molly Ringwald was sitting on the table? I couldn’t help but have a picture of that scene in my head when I saw little Princess L in her dress.

So…we propped her up on a table…

After the “Princess” pictures, she changed into casual clothes so we could head to the park for some casual outdoor pictures. It was a bit chilly, but she was a trooper and enjoyed being a “model for a day”.

"2009 Cute Kid Contest" Details

It’s here! It’s here! The 2009 Cute Kid Contest is now open to children 0-13 years of age.

The contest is open for portrait sessions held from now (March 2009) to April 30, 2009.

Schedule your portrait session by contacting Michelle (mrsphotography@gmail.com ) or calling 1-877-5MICHEL.

To Enter:

1. Schedule a portrait session for your child(ren) at our special rate (session(s) must be completed by April 30, 2009 to qualify)
   
2. Sign a model release to allow MRS Photography to use your images on the blog/website for the contest (and in the event your child wins, for use on my business cards and promotional items for 2009!)
   
3. One image of your child(ren) will be selected for the contest and posted to our blog
   
4. Voting will begin on May 1st, 2009 and will be open until May 8th, 2009

The winner will be announced on May 11.

The winning child will receive:

• A complimentary portrait session for their family ($100 value)
• A 16x20 wall portrait of their winning image ($50 value)

Their image will also be used on MRS Photography's website, blog, promotional material, publications and business cards throughout the 2009 calendar year!

This will help prove to everyone just how cute your kid is!!!!

Rules:

1. Only one entry per child
2. Child must be between the ages of 0-13 years old on the date the session is completed
3. $50 session fee is due prior to your session(s) (Visa, MasterCard, Cash, and Paypal payments are accepted)
4. Sessions must be completed by April 30, 2009
5. A Model Release form must be signed for each child participating in the contest
6. $25 Print Credit is for any size prints and cannot be used towards any other product (e.g. canvas wall art, Digital Negatives and Gina Alexander handbags)
7. Only one vote allotted per person
8. Votes must be submitted by 11:49 pm on May 8, 2009. Any votes received after 11:49 pm on May 8, 2009 will not be counted
