ATTN: Home Day Care Providers and Preschools

Would you like beautiful, candid portraits of your daycare/preschool children doing what they do best - PLAY? If so, I have a special offer to local Home Daycare and Preschool providers!

I know that children tend to "freeze up" in a studio-type environment and smiles can be difficult to capture. Because of this, I have targeted my portrait sessions around what kids enjoy most - their outdoor playtime.

Schedule a portrait session for your students and receive the following:

  • Casual portrait session with the children
  • 1-2 complimentary 4x6 prints of each child for the parent
  • Optional package offerings for parents to order additional prints
To schedule your portrait session for your students, contact me at 619.397.8497 or mrsphotography@gmail.com.

Photo Contest Entry - Please Vote! :)

I am a devoted fan of Me Ra Koh's blog, www.merakohblog.com.

She constantly holds photo contests and for the month of February, her theme was LOVE.

I decided to submit a picture for the contest. This morning, when I peeked at her blog, lo and behold, my picture made it in the TOP 5!!!! I was ecstatic and in tears!!!!!

If you have a moment, please check out her blog and cast your vote for your favorite picture!
My entry is #5.

I provided a little history to the picture and Me Ra included it with the picture.

Submitting the picture was two-fold for me. One, I just wanted to enter the contest and since that picture truly represented DJ's love for Cody, it was a perfect fit.

Two, I have never healed from that period of Cody's life. Yes, he is a super healthy toddler now and amazingly growing both mentally and physically, but that time in his life is one imbedded in my brain. It still brings tears to my eyes to see pictures from that point in his life and I tend to purposely ignore anything that reminds me of that period of his life (e.g. songs, movies, shows, etc).

I had not looked at any of these pictures from his hospitalization until I heard the theme for this contest. As soon as I heard it, the first image that popped into my head was the one of DJ holding Cody's hand.

Looking at the picture (even on Me Ra's blog) brings absolute tears to my eyes because the memory of him in the hospital is still so fresh.

By posting this picture out to the world, I am beginning my healing process. I hid the pictures for so long just so that I would not feel what I felt at that time. I know that soon, I will be able to look at the pictures and realize just how far Cody has come and not only see where he had been.

He is an amazing ball of love and brings a smile to everyone's face.

Who Can Resist a Pretty Girl?

Following this little Princess around for her photo shoot was a lot of fun. She is definitely a little supermodel in the making. She had the serious looks, pouty lips and confidence of a super model!
Her pictures turned out just GORGEOUS!

She even managed to turn my little Cody's head when she passed by him. They hadn't seen each other since before they were even crawling so it was a nice reunion. :)

Long Time Friends Memory Shoot

For this session, we had to endure the tough Southern California winter and enjoy a 70+ degree day at the park!!!! San Diego must have known we had a memory session scheduled because the weather sure was on our side this weekend!

I had the honors of meeting up with an old friend to shoot her family photos. Her boys were full of life and energy and were LOADS of fun!!!
